Hi Folks!
I actually haven't forgot about the blog. We said we were going to take a break, put the electronics away and focus on having a family. Which.. we have been doing for the last two years. This last November we experienced a devastating loss, we lost twins.
We gave it a few more months, but slowly my health is declining, so we have decided to take some time off, how long? We haven't actually decided. We felt like we had contacted close friends and family.. so it was okay to put this out there in a public forum.
However, I've been taking pictures of food. I have some amazing recipes to share and Cory is having gastric bypass done in the next few months, so I will have the joy of sharing our transition through that time.
I look forward to sharing some of our culinary joy.. and... I know we "said" we were going to work on remodeling last year, but! We actually bought the supplies this year. With a little help from Pinterest I feel that I have a style and flow I would like the house to have, and I can't wait to start and share my ideas with you. So the next few months should be busy. Right now, we are under a ton of snow, so... I can say nothing exciting is going to happen outside, so.. we will get some fun things underway in the kitchen to start :) I can't wait honestly.
So, I'm going to wrap up this post, so I can look at preparing the next month.. I'm thinking orange chicken and fried rice... Philly beef crescent roll ups.. and dutch oven roast- the ultimate comfort food w/green bean casserole :) and I'm going to tackle my first home improvement project- I'm going to paint a laminate book shelf to see if it's the color we want for the kitchen cabinets. Suspense I know!
Thanks for hanging in there with us!

Working on life
Cory and I both have been working on losing weight. I've also over the years consulted with nutritionists on diets and what can and will impact my migraines. I had surgery on my neck on Wednesday to help with my migraines.
I've had plenty of time to scour the internet for plenty of ideas, one of the biggest things is removing preservatives from my diet, like things in pre-made soups, dinners, etc. So I've been writing down recipes and filling my recipe box. I'm also working on another month of meals, once I get a chance to sit down and look at the meat flyers for the local stores this week.
I've done things like cut frozen pizza out of our diet, but, we still have it, I make 4 pizza's ahead and freeze them. All we have to do is pop them in the freezer. Working on our garden gives me a chance to control the amount of preservatives & ingredients in things like spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, etc. Which I love making home made now.
I found a recipe I'm very excited about for Olive Garden's alfredo. I'll let you know if it turns out the same. We are still enjoying life, we went out on our first bike ride this last weekend together to bring a fallen rider home. You may have heard about the accident, 12 of a local biker group were mowed over by a guy in WI.. please keep the family & all of our riders on the road in your thoughts & prayers.

Happy Anniversary
Hard to believe it's been a year since we said "I do".
Cory made me a wonderful dinner the night before our anniversary, it was a recreation of our wedding dinner, roast and all the fixings, even homemade bread.
We've learned a lot about each other in the last year. Most people say the first year is the hardest. We've crossed some obstacles this year, between sickness, migraines, and our struggle with fertility... I think we both spent some time going back to the day we married to remember what we said in our vows.
I wrote our wedding ceremony, everything right down to the commas and periods came from me. I meant every word, I know he did as well. We've found strength and sorrow together. We've fervently hoped to be parents, we've faced cancer in a family, debt, nothing ever going right, and held on. I would say these vows all over again.. because today, they have even more meaning.

I, Kelly, choose you, Cory.. as my best friend, my love for life.
Today I give myself to you in marriage.
I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you,
and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle.
I promise to love you in good times and in bad,
when life seems easy and when it seems hard,
when our love is simple, and when it is an effort.

I
promise to be faithful to you, I promise to love you, commit to you and support
you.
From this day forward, you shall not walk alone. My heart will be your shelter and my arms will be your home. As I have given you my hand to hold, I give you my life to keep.

Spoiled
He puts up with a lot, this man of mine.
This past weekend, I was so sick with yet another migraine, and he took care of me, making my mac and cheese and administering my meds.
For valentine's day this year, he did the sweetest thing, made me dinner and a beautiful creation on our bed. "I Luv U".

I cannot say enough, how amazing he is to me, how much he does for me, and the distance we have gone together, we've had better, we've had worse, and as we approach our 2 years together, I've never been happier and this blessed in my life.
It took me a long time to get to this spot in life, where I could appreciate this man for who and what he is. He makes me appreciate laughter, love and life. It's a very precious time in life for both of us, learning to love each other, lean on each other, and enjoying marriage for all it holds.
I love you Cory, thank you for all you do for me!

It doesn't take long
Every thing is so different since the last time I sat down with a pen and paper, except I don't have a pen and I don't have paper...
I got married.. May 14th, 2012. I never thought I'd be here in my life, to say that we've both sacrificed and grown so much in the last year, would be an understatement.
I'm trying to garnish ideas for redecorating our little house.. in the suburbs into something I can be happy with. It's small, with big things. They don't always work out great!
Anyways.. this is to keep my thoughts flowing, my ideas coming, and a place to put the next few years in a spot that others can look back on.
Welcome!
